For a built-in fridge of this size, we were very happy with the price and the look in our all KitchenAid kitchen with the nicest KitchenAid appliances available. The look is simple - lots of flat stainless steel, and the quality is in-line with the higher end non built in models. Not on par with competing built-ins, such as Thermador or Sub-Zero, but at a much lower price. We are experiencing an "issue" with ours whereby the freezer will drop from 0 degrees to -10 on a daily basis. After a repairman replaced various parts and called KA several times, they determined that this is normal - that the system is boosting the cold because the ice maker has not harvested ice in a while. Of course, we have a separate KitchenAid ice maker, so we keep the one in the fridge off. Apparently that doesn't matter - the temperature cycling doesn't know or acknowledge that the ice maker is off and just keeps cooling down to negative 10 to boost the ice maker...seems like an odd design to me, but so long as the system can handle it, I guess it otherwise performs fine after 1 year.

clear No, I would not recommend this to a friend
This refrigerator is a big disappointment. I can't put any fruit or vegetables in there. i love to cook and i need fresh fruits and veggies. they are all wilted or rotten in a few days. I have an old refrigerator in my garage and it works better than my brand new one. I called the person who sold it to me and he has nothing to say. I can't put things on the top shelf or they will freeze.
Great features

This unit replaced a 25 yr old kitchenaid unit. I couldn't be happier.
